Hello friends!

It’s been a great 6 months back at the helm of Grail Games and we have had a lot to celebrate in our tenth anniversary year! After successful crowdfunding campaigns for Grail Games’ 2024 Card Game Collection, and then for Snowcrest, I am happy to bring to you all the news on everything still to come in 2024!

Upcoming retail releases!

The first, new release in years for the Manhattan Project family of games: Manhattan Project - War Machine has just released at retail in some areas and should be coming soon to others. This is a fast, thinky dice-placement game that shares some features with the other Manhattan Project games. Originally intended for release by James Mathe and Minion Games, we are glad to be finally bringing it to you! The game is by Jan Gonzales and illustrated by Heiko Günther and is for 1-4 players.

The four card games from our 2024 Card Game Collection are now on boats! These titles will be fulfilling to backers soon and then should become available next quarter. They are: One Zero One (a refreshed reprint of our first-ever release), Bottle Imp (a classic trick-taker returns!), Millions of Dollars (a new edition of a great negotiation game) and Tango (a new 2-player-only trick-taking game). Check them all out on our website for more info!

Finally, Snowcrest is printing right now and should be available to the world by the end of the year! A fun, fast tableau-building card game from Philip duBarry - look for it at Essen!

Upcoming crowdfunding campaigns!

Believe it or not, we still have 4 fantastic crowdfunding campaigns up our sleeves for later this year and early next year…And this doesn’t include the 2025 Card Collection we are still curating for crowdfunding :)

Each of these upcoming games highlight our focus: great mid-weight euro games and reprints of classic games that deserve another swim in the ocean!

Food for Thought

The first of these should be on Kickstarter by the end of July! Food for Thought is a refreshed edition of 2019’s Consumption: Food & Choices. A well-regarded, thematic, strategy game about balancing what we eat and how we live, we are not only bringing back the base game, but looking to include the previous edition’s expansion content within the main box! We will also offer some new yoga-themed promo cards!
Food for Thought is by Karen Knoblaugh and illustrated by Naomi Robinson and is for 1-4 players. Stay tuned for more info in our next newsletter.

Barony

Barony - by Splendor’s Marc André and previously released in 2015 - is also coming back with a beautiful new facelift, and (as with Food for Thought) the original release’s expansion content included in the base game box! We also have some new goodies in the form of optional asymmetric player powers and nice, new wooden pieces. Stay tuned for more updates!
Barony (2nd ed.) is by Marc André and illustrated by Bastien Jez & Ismaël Pommaz. It is for 2-5 players.

Night Soil

Night Soil is a very mature game about sanitation in Tudor London. In it, players take on the roles of night soil companies, tasked with removing the city’s nightly waste under cover of darkness. It's a very strategic and interactive game with a unique art style and setting - we can’t wait to show you more!
Night Soil is by Jon Moffat and illustrated by Jesse Gillespie. It is for 2-5 players.

Manhattan Project: Energy Empire

Finally, Manhattan Project: Energy Empire is a much-anticipated re-release of a modern classic that is planned for crowdfunding in October. We are so excited to be bringing this back, with all new art by Heiko Günther. This deluxe edition will include the Cold War expansion, as well as some new goodies and modules that have not been released before. We also intend to reprint the Cold War expansion in the original art style for those who missed out on it last time (should there be interest). This is going to be big - stay tuned for more news as the date approaches!
Manhattan Project: Energy Empire is by Luke Laurie & Tom Jolly and illustrated by Heiko Günther. It is for 1-5 players.

Upcoming partnerships!

Finally, we have another exciting announcement! Through our relationships with publishing partners worldwide, Grail Games is pleased to announce that we are soon beginning a whole new, exciting adventure: producing localised French versions of great euro games from around the world! We are not ready to announce the first titles to receive the Grail Games logo in French (soon!) but we are extremely excited for what’s on the slate - big names, big designers, big games! It’s going to be fantastic and fun to become a bilingual company with teams working on two different continents!

More info to follow!! Stay in touch to find out more. And as always, thank you so much for your support! Without it, none of these announcements could have been made :)
